One thing that makes Cannabis such a unique plant is the variety of strains available. From Holy Grail Kush, to more trendy strains like Purple Punch, the genetics seem to never end. But what’s even more interesting about Cannabis is the fact that all of the strains available also have sort of “sub-strains” within them. These “sub-strains” are can range from mild to dramatic characteristic differences. This is known as a Phenotype. A phenotype is essentially a plant’s unique characteristic such as the specific terpene, bud or plant structure, susceptibility to pests or diseases, and other traits known to the plant’s genotype (basically the genetic make-up, to keep it simple).
